UF is governed by the Representative Council — the policy-making body composed of the Executive Board and elected Faculty Representatives from each academic division across the three campuses. One member, one vote. Rep Council meets at least once per month during the academic year and is the body through which power is derived and decision-making is accountable.
The Executive Board (President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer) carries out the policies set by Rep Council, coordinates Association activities, and provides day-to-day leadership. The Lead Negotiator and Grievance Chairs serve on the Executive Committee as ex-officio members.
Standing committees do the hands-on work: Communications, Elections, Membership, Political Action, Organizing, Racial Justice and Equity (RJEC), and the District Insurance and Benefits Committee. Each committee chair is appointed by the President subject to Rep Council approval, and reports periodically back to Rep Council.
